According to reports and undisclosed sources, more than 200 bandits have ravaged about 13 villages in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger state, killing and kidnapping an unknown number of people.
The Terrorists started operations in Ndaruka, Dabban, Ebbo, Egbako, Gogata, Gbanagi, Kuba and Mawogi at around 12 noon on Saturday 26 February 2022
Other villages also invaded are Tsoegi, Santali, Kanko, Yidzhuhun, and Ndakotifin.
At the time of writing, the number of casualties is uncertain. We learned that three people were killed in Ndaruka and one in Tsoegi.
A source in Dabban said that the bandits killed three people along Ndawangwa’s house. At about 7 p.m., sources said they were still at Tsoegi and Santali.
It was also learned that many were shot in these towns. Some of them are receiving treatment in various health centers.
The informants revealed that the terrorists were aided by indigenous informants. They said the attacks came at a time when there were weddings and naming ceremonies in the affected villages.
There has been no government intervention or security officials to confront the terrorists even though the bandits have been raiding the villages for more than 12 hours.
